Will legal ed and the practice of law pivot to meet the #neweconomy & #futureofwork?

“Lawyers aren’t going away. But the way we work is changing.”

Today’s client and, more importantly tomorrow’s client, demands that lawyers keep pace with the #futureofwork in the #neweconomy. Here’s where I think we are and where we HAVE to go.

How do you foresee this directly impacting the legal industry?

Asked by interviewer Adam Keirstead

Dean Evans

Well, there’s a really interesting move in the legal industry to prepare lawyers to have conversations with technologists in the IT department and those who are coding to leverage the existing master contracts that we have in order to figure out ways that we can automate certain functions.

Essentially, there are master agreements underneath that lawyers do, and there’s coding the coders and IT specialists do. They need to be able to talk to each other. This is an area that’s ripe for innovation on the law side.

Lawyers won’t go away, but the way that lawyers are interacting with business people, and in terms of our advice and how we work with them is going to certainly change!

Tech Intersect #74: Vince McPhillip-Turn Your "Knomad" Knowledge into Wealth in a Digital World Tech Intersect™ with Tonya M. Evans

In this episode of Tech Intersect, I welcome Vince McPhillip, founder of Knomad and former co-founder and Head of Community at Pi Network. He founded Knomad in 2018 to help people find more flexible and meaningful work. He was inspired to launch Knomad as a “flash consultancy” to pair students with cryptocurrency projects after reading an article titled "Expert Crowdsourcing" while he was in business school. And although he says it was really hard challenging work, he focused on the promising signs of the magic that arises when people from different backgrounds come together to solve hard problems. Fast forward to the present moment, now more people than ever are looking for greater autonomy, meaning, and financial reward in their work. Vince believes that every single person has inherent wisdom to share, irrespective of background or geographical borders. So Vince is building a global knowledge marketplace where people can trade expertise. By doing so, Knomad hopes to create alternative economies where Knomads can turn their knowledge into wealth. SPONSORED BY ADVANTAGE EVANS™ ACADEMY Embark on a 3-day intimate (Aug 13-15), workshop-style course that includes live coaching, well-curated content and an Accreditable digital certificate of mastery so you can upskill in the competitive workforce with credentials that set you apart from the pack in the new economy. Regulation is an essential component of a healthy, thriving crypto ecosystem.
