Do you have a voice for voice overs? Learn from a Pro!

My dear friend and former client Stephanie Renee of Creator’s Child Productions is offering an amazing opp in Philadelphia to break into the voice over game. Read her announcement below and run (do not walk) to the nearest mode of communication to sign up and learn the secrets of success in the voice over biz:

“Yeah! I’m glad you are teaching this, Stephanie! We are happy to “recommend” you and your class, and your VO and producing talents.” — Susan & Sam Gish, The Philadelphia Casting Co. Inc.

“What an amazing use of your wealth of expertise and talent. I highly recommend this class to all of those seeking the secrets of success in the VO biz from a pro!” — Tonya M. Evans, Esq. Entertainment and IP lawyer and professor

Greetings Friends and Colleagues!

At the urging of several people who have an interest in getting into the wacky world of voice acting, I am revising my 6-week training workshop for the Philadelphia community. I’m calling it SPEAK & SELL, because that is what professional VO artists do…use our voices to sell products and ideas. If you’re looking for a new potential income stream and can commit to 6 weeks’ worth of coaching and practice, please consider registering for this workshop!

COURSE OVERVIEW

Over the 6-week curriculum, we will examine the roles of both the talent and the producer in the voice casting process. You will learn important skills like elocution/enunciation techniques, how to develop your unique vocal personality, how to respond to producers’ requests on your feet in the booth, how to effectively approach auditions and cold script readings (and process criticism), how to use cost-effective technology to create or enhance your online presence, and how to properly compile a professional demo for use in securing paid voice employment opportunities. Those persons who complete the workshop with distinction will be offered representation for future voice-over work through my company, Creator’s Child Productions Inc.

TIMING

SPEAK & SELL will meet over 6 weeks, divided into 2-hour evening sessions, 6-8 pm. We are currently considering Wednesday evenings for the workshop beginning February 15, but I will accommodate as many students as possible based on your feedback about which evening of the week is best for your schedule. Our studio location is in Center City Philadelphia, so please give rush hour travel consideration when deciding your availability.

COST

Tuition for SPEAK & SELL is $385, payable in full by the start of the first class. Registration is limited to 10 students, so applications and preferred workshop dates will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. All major credit cards are accepted, along with direct checking account payments via PayPal.

An official workshop registration form will be emailed to all of those who respond with serious interest. Participants also receive a discounted rate for the creation of their own professional voice-over demo reel to use to secure employment at the conclusion of the workshop.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

My broadcast career began with a series of radio internships during college, working as an assistant to Kimmika Williams-Witherspoon as Community Arts Host for WXPN and as a promotions assistant for Power 99 FM (Stanley T and The Carter & Sanborn morning show). In both positions, I was responsible for writing, editing and producing event announcements, PSAs and commercial spots, and often had the task of voicing them with the station on-air personalities. Flash forward a few years, when I received an emergency call from Beach Advertising to voice a Women’s History Month spot for HealthPartners, and a week later I joined their staff as a broadcast producer and copywriter.

Over the past 17 years, I have written, produced and/or voiced more than 250 commercials and online training programs for a diverse client base including Greater Philadelphia Tourism & Marketing Corporation, PECO Energy, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Constellation Energy, NJ Welfare To Work, and the PA Department of Health.

Through my non-profit arts foundation Soul Sanctuary, I host four internet radio programs and conduct regular interviews with celebrities from the music industry. Feel free to sample my digital portfolio by visiting the VURB page at www.Creators-Child.com and the SOUNDS and INTERVIEWS pages at www.Soul-Sanctuary.net

Looking forward to welcoming a new class into the voice-over fold!
